Cannes Festival Day 2

Today was much busier than the first. I got an early start with the smaller FCB Health talk on their yacht. Decent place to have a meeting! Rich Levy, the CCO, spoke to us about their company and different aspects of advertising in the healthcare industry. He really provided us with great down-to-earth insight and I gained a broader perspective about the behind the scenes of campaigns. I was super excited to hear that they were actively searching for talent for many job openings. Rich would be an amazing boss because he's witty, wise, lenient and so positive. We also got to see his Gold Lions up close and personal that he won the night before. Very impressive! I definitely plan on following up with them.

The highlight of my day for sure was the intimate meeting with Publicis Health. I'be recently become very intrigued by Publicis Groupe because of their worldwide presence and excellent work. I love how the company is split into four segments that collaborate together in order to customize the needs of the various clients. Five employees shared with us their background and story of breaking into the industry and finding what they personally loved. I was so intrigued the entire time because I too struggle with discovering exactly what I love and want to do in my future career. The talk made me love Publicis even more. Dream job! I learned that I want to help rather than just sell and work with a purpose. The medical industry has always interested me and it was cool to hear two girls talk about how they ended up in advertising after majoring in biology. I talked to a few of them after and got their business cards and definitely will following up with them.

After such an insightful morning, I attended several other sessions that seemed interesting to me. I went to the Is VR the New Remedy? and Mobile-Only Pioneers, which heavily focused on new technologies. It was crazy to see the process of the work and how many benefits they can evoke. Technology is constantly evolving for the best and it makes me excited for the future, especially in healthcare because it can help and save so many lives.

Later in the afternoon, we had 2 events that we all attended. The first was with the man from Microsoft who provided us with our brief for Microsoft Team. It was an informative session because we were able to learn more and ask questions, which will help enhance our final projects. Lastly, we met on Connections Beach to hear a woman speak about her position. To be honest I was in the way back and couldn't hear much due to the music and such. Connection Beach was a lot of fun though and I talked to several people and received business cards. All in all it was a great day and I feel that I'm starting to warm up to the environment and networking aspect. I'm excited for more of the beaches and events to open up tomorrow.
