Power of Pinterest

Image
Pinterest is one of my favorite websites to view in my free time. It's overloaded with various images with links that allow you to explore further if you're interested. When you create a Pinterest account you get to customize your page with different boards. The boards serve as categories that you can save your images to. Here is a screenshot of mine to give you a picture of my personalized board. I made my account early on in high school, so I don't use certain boards as much aka the "the south" and "hotties." My most used boards are "my style", "home sweet home," "fitness," "yummy," and "jewelry." Obviously, I'm not in the stage of life to get married and settle down and buy a home, but I love to dream about what those events will be like. It's fun to generate ideas and save things I love for later use. I definitely will look back at the "dream day" and "home sweet home" ...

Instant Delivery

Image
Sunday scaries are a real thing. After a long weekend of cheering on the Dawgs, my friends and I don't want to leave the couch let alone go run errands. So, this means we order food online either from UberEats or Bulldawg Delivery. These delivery services offer a host of options to choose from and we all end up ordering whatever we're craving rather than settling on one restaurant, which is really nice. I was extremely envious of my friend when a Pub Sub arrived at our door. I had no clue Publix had started delivering! She even got a large bag of Salt & Vinegar Cape Cod chips and a bottle of shampoo and toothpaste. Publix is a far drive in perspective of other grocery stores and restaurants in Athens, so the fact that they now deliver is huge! If you wanted, you could have all your groceries and other needed items delivered to you. Someone literally goes and does your shopping for you then drives it over. Personally, I enjoy grocery shopping and running errands most of the ...

The Organic Trend

Image
When I moved to college and started shopping for my own groceries, I really started to become interested in nutrition. I was aware of terms like organic and non-gmo, but I didn't know many details or the health benefits of the products. I began researching online and became intrigued with the all the information. I still continue to keep up with trends and buy all organic produce and try to stick to organic/non-gmo snacks, etc. I'm no saint about it and definitely indulge in "non-healthy" foods, but I do believe that organic is way healthier and will enhance future health. America has become bogged down with fast-food and artificial foods created by companies for cheap and out of mass production in order to generate the most revenue. I think a lot of people feel the same way and are jumping on the trend as well, especially cities such as LA and New York. I was in New York this weekend and all of the organic restaurants, markets, etc. that I saw is what inspired me to ...

SapientRazorfish

Image
Today in my Integrated Marketing 4600S class, we had several speakers from SapientRazorfish come teach us about what they do. SapientRazorfish is a sub-division of Publicis Groupe that works to transform companies. The brand statement is the following, "SapientRazorfish is helping our clients thrive in a new world with radical customer centricity, a modern digital enterprise, and the kind of agility that makes a critical difference." SapientRazorfish helps clients from start to finish to reimagine and adjust their strategies in order to build the brand and reach customers. The customer is always the core of SapientRazorfish projects, which is crucial for success. In particular I was interested in the Social and Content Marketing Studio, which has 8 different branches: Community Management, Social Strategy, Client Communication, Ad Buying and Budgeting, Copywriting, Creative Development, Industry Trend Watch and Data Measurement and Reporting. I was not aware of all the dif...

Shop Till Ya Don't Drop

Image
Online shopping has rapidly grown with the increase in technology. Millennials are driving this spike and have made a critical impact on the retail industry. The 18-34 age group is now making up 54% of its purchases online. As digital natives, we have easy access to various channels, which provides convenience. One of my favorite things to do is lay in bed and scroll through my favorite stores websites and add whatever I want to my cart, which sadly I eventually have to narrow down. It's nice to save my self a trip from driving out to a mall or store and spending hours searching and trying on. Shopping is exhausting cue the phrase "shop till ya drop." I enjoy having the freedom to shop when I feel the need to and see the clothing on models and reviews from other customers rather than trying on myself. The websites are organized, visually pleasing and usually have all sizes and clothing options unlike the physical stores. I definitely spend to much time scanning through re...

My Favorite App

Image
Snapchat. Yep. No doubt.  What inspired me to write this post was a discussion my professor had with our Social Media Marketing class. She expressed her negative feelings towards Snapchat and how it's not as effective. I think another reason she's not a huge fan of the app is because of the "egotistic and cocky" young male CEO's. I agree with her that Snapchat may not be the best way to reach audiences for some businesses, but it definitely can help promote awareness of other's who do it in the right way.  My favorite feature of Snapchat is the segmented news/discovery page. To name a few sources there's Daily Mail, Tastemade, Food Netwoork, People, Cosmopolitan, Washington Post, BuzzFeed, E!News, ESPN, Vogue, Tasty. I almost all of these daily. The customization affect of this approach is allowing the audience to choose from a large source based off of their desires. Some sources I click through quickly to get a broad feeling of what's current...

Pumpkin Spice Everything

Image
Fall is in the air aka pumpkin spice is in the air. It's literally everywhere. From Starbucks and other coffee chains, to grocery stores, to restaurants, to stores, and so many brands in general, manufactures are seriously focused on providing pumpkin spice everything. Whether it's eating, drinking or smelling, pumpkin spice is craved by many consumers. The author of the cookbook Pumpkin it Up! expre sses,  "From an emotional standpoint, pumpkin spice evokes the comfort of a cozy kitchen and good things baking in the oven. More than any other flavor, I think pumpkin spice encompasses the sweet comfort of being home." Here are some images of brands who have customized their products or created a "limited edition" to fit into the pumpkin spice craze and increase sales.  A whole marketplace is segmented for the fall season and to continue the craze. Companies market their pumpkin spice specials and generate lots of revenue through their increased sales ...
